All students are required to cooperate and comply with this policy.Out-of-State ResidentsThere is no additional charge for tuition for out-of-state residents, with the exception of the apprenticeship program.Senior Citizen DiscountIf you are 60 or better, you are eligible for a 10% discount.Equal Opportunity ProgramsIndividuals with a documented disability wishing to take part in any of the programs in the Sussex Tech Adult Division, including Blue Collar programs, may request reasonable accommodations.  This must be done upon enrollment in the class or program.  Students must be capable of performing the essential functions for the job and training.  TTY/TDD is available for speech or hearing impaired by calling 711 or 1-800-232-5460.  VeteransThe State of Delaware has approved some of our programs for the Veteran’s Administration (VA) benefts.  Previous Education and Training transcripts from previous education and training will be reviewed. Veterans should contact our offce at (302) 856-9035 for more information.Veteran’s Refund PolicyStudents who are receiving Veteran’s Administration (VA) assistance will be refunded their fees if they drop the course 72 hours prior to the class start date, or thereafter, based on a pro-rata formula (hours remaining divided by total required hours multiplied by the tuition charged.)  All refunds will be mailed to the veteran’s home address within 30 days of notifcation of a student’s change of status.Cancellation of CoursesWhen enrollment in a course is below the required number, Sussex Tech reserves the right to cancel or delay the start date of any class or course.  Students who register for courses that are cancelled will be given the opportunity to select replacement courses or receive a full refund.  REGISTER EARLY; last minute registrations will NOT revive an already cancelled course.Tuition Assisted Training ServicesMany programs at the Sussex Tech Adult Division have been approved and certifed by the Delaware Workforce Investment Board and Department of Labor for tuition assisted training monies for eligible participants.  In order to register for selected Certifcate Programs, students must qualify by passing a free skills assessment test.  These tests are given periodically during the year at Sussex Tech.  Please plan to spend about an hour to complete the test.  To register for the test, call (302) 856-9035. To fnd out if you qualify for tuition assistance, please call the Department of Labor at (302) 856-5230.  Please allow up to six weeks for the process.Tuition Refund PolicyTo receive a refund, the student must complete and submit an offcial withdrawal form (with the exception of Defensive Driving classes which are nonrefundable).   • Withdrawals received more than 72 business hours prior to class start date will be refunded at 100% of the tuition cost. • Withdrawals received within 72 business hours prior to class start date will be refunded at 75% of the tuition cost. • No refund after class start date, unless indicated on payment plan.Certifcate program students should refer to their Payment Plan Agreement for refund details.
