Adult Ed Students Enjoy Legislative Luncheon

Sussex Tech Adult Division staff and students attend the annual Meet and Greet the Many Faces in Adult Education Legislative Luncheon at Legislative Hall. Sussex Tech Adult Division students were honored guests at the “Meet and Greet the Many Faces in Adult Education” Legislative Luncheon on March 28, 2017. This event is held annually to provide a casual atmosphere where students and legislators can converse about the immediate and long-term value of adult education in Delaware.

This event was hosted by Senator Cathy Cloutier and attended by many legislators, including Representative Rich Collins, Senator Ernie Lopez, Representative Ruth Briggs-King, Representative Tim Dukes, and Representative Ron Gray.

Following lunch, legislators heard from students about how adult education programs in Delaware have positively affected their lives and the lives of others. Speaking for Sussex Tech Adult Division were Donald Hirneisen and Madison Manelski. Linda Eklund, James H. Groves Adult High School Principal, Kelly Whaley, Sussex Tech Adult Education Coordinator, Bob Powell, Sussex Tech Adult Education, and Kim Banks, Instructor, accompanied Sussex Tech student representatives Donald Hirneisen, Madison Manelski, Rebecca Wyrick, Felicity Nsiah and Latenia Williams to the luncheon.
