Graduation Ceremonies

Sussex Technical Adult Division recently held graduation ceremonies for Rehabilitation Therapy Aide students. As Rehabilitation Therapy Aides, graduates will work closely with physical therapists and occupational therapists to help patients. In the program, they learned anatomy, medical terminology, ethics, confidentiality laws, and the role of the Rehabilitation Therapy Aide in a variety of settings. An externship allowed students to experience this work first hand in a professional setting. Sussex Technical Adult Division recently held graduation ceremonies for Medical Office Administration-Clerical students. The 231-hour certificate program prepares students for entry-level employment in a physician’s office or hospital. Students are taught Office Procedures, Financial Procedures, and Risk Management. A national certification exam is included as well as an externship. Graduates include, left to right – Darlene Showell (Millsboro), Linda McHugh (Dagsboro), Danielle Gibbs (Georgetown), Lisa Bennet (Dagsboro), and Carrie Simpson (Ocean View). Sussex Technical Adult Division recently held graduation ceremonies for Medical Billing and Coding Specialist students. The 261 hours of instruction included learning to use ICD and CPT coding and preparing medical billings. Charting was also taught, along with understanding diagnostic information. A national certification exam was included as well as an externship. Graduates include, left to right – Sandra Biller (Millsboro), Karen Skarson (Delmar), Gina Barone (Lincoln), Peggy Williams (Georgetown), and Karen Jacobi (Georgetown).
