Clubs & Organizations
Sussex Technical High School has a vibrant student activities scene tied to technical, academic, or social activities.

Meeting times: Bi-Weekly (Days vary)
Instructor facilitates meetings. AWS student officers meet bi-weekly to discuss program, activities, customer projects, and contract with the AWS Delmarva section to attend after school plant tours and guest speakers. Full class meets monthly to be updated.
Advisor: Ms. Kathy Kay
Meeting times: Once a month, Monday 3:30-4:30. The date is determined at the monthly meeting.
Club members suggest books to read. We then vote on the selections. The winning book is discussed at the next month's meeting. Books are not provided through the club. Members can either purchase their own copy, use our inter-library loan service, or SORA app on their Ipad.

Meet times: 10 weeks during winter sports season, Dates TBD (Thursdays)
Students pay $7 each week to rent shoes and bowl three games. This is an excellent opportunity to have some fun and meet new people. Transportation is provided on a limited basis and students will return to school to ride the activity buses.

Meet times: The meeting time is now either Wednesday or Thursday (whichever day is even that week)
All students must also be enrolled in Concert Choir to be able to join. We prepare music for portions of the winter and spring concert as well as multiple community performances throughout the year (examples: Renaissance Faire, Governor’s Prayer Breakfast, Black History month concert with the Southern Delaware Chorale).

Meet times: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (when shows are in progress)
ST Drama produces three or more productions a year including a Fall Play, Winter Musical, and Spring One-Act Showcase. In addition to our performance slate, ST Drama conducts workshops focused on acting, improvisation, audition preparation, and dance. We take several fieldtrips a year to experience professional productions in Wilmington, Philadelphia, and New York City. There are opportunities for student involvement as performers, musicians, stage crew, hair/make-up, costume design, and light and sound technicians. ST Drama is a welcoming, inclusive, and accepting community of learners open to all.

Ducks Unlimited is a community service organization dedicated to the protection of wildlife and waterfowl habitat. The club plans and hosts a fundraising event to benefit DU in their mission, as well as volunteering for youth outreach events.

Meeting Times: Every 1st Tuesday of the Month
We are focusing on empowering the young generation and demonstrating ways that they can be a change since we are the future. We will teach them how to create change and inspire them to be better. We will do monthly service projects that would be related to our lessons of empowerment.

We seek to make disciples through our methods of engaging, equipping and empowering coaches and athletes to know and grow in Christ and lead others to do the same.

FFA is a dynamic youth organization that changes lives and prepares members for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
FFA develops members’ potential and helps them discover their talent through hands-on experiences, which give members the tools to achieve real-world success.

Meet times: Tuesdays after school
The Gaming Club invites students of all grade levels to come hang out in a fun, friendly environment once a week, after school. The purpose of the club is to have fun playing games with other like-minded students. Games can include board games, trading card games, video games, and more. Some tabletop and card games are provided, but students are able to bring in their own games and/or video game consoles. Weekly participation is not required.

Meeting Times: Meeting Minimum of 1 meeting each month
Key Club is a student-led international organization that focuses on services to others, character building, and leadership skills. We meet monthly as a whole group and participate in service projects throughout the school year.

Meeting times: As needed for individual help, but meetings are held monthly November-January with the state meet in March/April
The 9th grade Math League team focuses on the areas of basic math and Pre-algebra. The 10th -12th grade Math League team focuses on Logic Problems, Algebra, Algebra II and Geometry. Both teams will compete in four meets against other schools from Sussex County. I have room for between five and seven members of each set of teams.

Meet times: Twice a month (one Tuesday and one Thursday)
At Multiplying Good, our mission is to cultivate greatness through service to others. We focus on helping people reach their full potential and discover their power to deliver impact and bring about meaningful change.
Instructor: Ms. Lauren Lins and Ms. Nancy Massaro
Meeting Times: As needed for events
Members will be inducted through a ceremony upon acceptance. All members are expected to complete their required volunteer hours, track said hours, and maintain a minimum GPA of 93%. The advisors have the responsibility for collecting membership fees, overseeing fundraising events, registering all students into national databases, and paying for membership. Lastly, both advisors are responsible for overseeing the organization of a senior dinner where those graduating receive a sash/cord and portfolio from the national societies.

Science Olympiad is a way for students to show off their content and/or technical knowledge. Students compete in 3-5 different events from the areas of mathematics, engineering, biology, chemistry, physics, and general science fields. Please come by and check us out. We can always use more people to help us build projects and learn new material. I have competition slots for up to thirty people and room for a couple of alternates for when people can’t make it. Student Government Association (SGA) : Is a student led organization that represents the entire student body and encourages school spirit and community service. SGA echoes students voices and demonstrates leadership skills for all students in and out of the classroom. Overall, SGA's goal is to provide an enjoyable school environment for all students in order to make a positive impact.

Meeting Times: Meeting time is the first Thursday of each month. Packet review for potential candidates is January.
